Gunbot runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, or a VPS controlled by the user. It connects to supported spot, futures, and DeFi trading venues using credentials configured by the user. Exchange secrets stay with the user's Gunbot setup rather than being submitted to the public Gunbot website.

The software supports configurable built-in strategies, custom JavaScript strategies, backtesting, charting, monitoring, TradingView alerts, AutoConfig automation, and a REST API exposed by each user-operated installation. Available capabilities depend on the selected license and current release.
