Use multiple Gunbot instances

Gunbot Unlimited can connect any number of Gunbot instances to the same license.

For most setups, two instances are enough:

Main trading
Spot simulator

Keep real trading on the first bot and leave the second bot in spot simulator mode for forward testing.

Switch bots from the top bar

Use the bot selector in the top bar to change which Gunbot instance Gunbot Live shows.

Each bot has its own:

  • exchange secrets
  • configured pairs and strategies
  • running state
  • simulator setting
  • AutoConfig jobs
  • custom strategy files
  • logs and trading data

Connection names such as Main trading, Spot simulator, or Binance futures make the bot's purpose easy to recognize in the selector.

Keep a separate spot simulator

Simulator mode applies to the complete Gunbot instance. Keeping a dedicated simulator means you always have a place to forward-test spot strategies and settings with current market data.

When you want to use a tested setup with real funds, add the same pair and settings to your real-trading bot. The simulator can stay in place for the next test.

See Simulator mode.

License and exchange keys across bots

All Gunbot instances on the same Unlimited license use the same license wallet and can use public exchange API keys registered to that license.

The API secret and other exchange credentials are still configured separately on each Gunbot instance.

You can reuse a registered key on more than one bot when the exchange allows it, but separate API keys per bot are usually easier to identify and manage.

See Connect an exchange.

When to add more instances

Add another instance for cases such as:

  • splitting many pairs on one exchange across bots to reduce round-trip time
  • keeping different exchanges on separate bots so one bot failure does not affect the others
  • running a bot closer to a specific exchange API for lower latency
  • keeping a dedicated development or futures bot

For most setups, Main trading and Spot simulator are enough. Add more instances when one of the cases above applies to your setup.
