Why Do I Register an API Key and Then Configure Its Secret in Gunbot?

Gunbot Unlimited registers the public API key to your license once. You then enter the API secret and any other exchange credentials on each Gunbot instance that will use that account.

Register the public key to the license

An Unlimited license can register any number of exchange API keys, including multiple keys for the same exchange. This registration is shared by all remote Gunbot instances using the same Unlimited license wallet.

On a newly registered Unlimited license, the public key used during initial license setup is already registered.

Configure the secret on the Gunbot instance

The exchange secret is what lets a specific Gunbot instance authenticate to the exchange. Configure it on every remote bot that needs to use that exchange account. Some exchanges also require a passphrase or other account-specific fields.

You can use the same registered public key on more than one remote bot when the exchange allows it. Separate API keys per bot are usually easier to identify and manage.

Never share exchange API secrets or wallet private keys. Gunbot support does not need those secrets.
