Cryptohopper's official pricing page currently lists annual-billing equivalents of $24.16/month Explorer, $57.50/month Adventurer and $107.50/month Hero, with a free three-day trial. Explorer allows 15 coins, 80 open positions per exchange, 2 event-based triggers and 10 Portfolio/Manual bots; Adventurer allows 50 coins, 200 positions, 5 triggers and 25 bots; Hero allows 75 coins, 500 positions, 10 triggers and 65 bots. Hero adds AI strategies/AI Designer, market making and arbitrage features, but the official exchange documentation still describes the connected exchange trading scope as spot-only.

Gunbot Unlimited is $29/month and includes the complete Gunbot feature set, unlimited registered exchange keys/connections within supported venues, custom JavaScript and backtesting. Comparing $29/month with Cryptohopper's annual-equivalent prices is not a like-for-like feature or billing comparison. Hero is the closest Cryptohopper tier when advanced platform features matter; Explorer is the lower-cost entry tier.

Hosting, funds and credentials​

Gunbot's trading engine runs on the user's computer or VPS. On a self-hosted installation, Gunbot documentation says exchange API secrets are encrypted and stored locally. Gunbot Live can also provide a hosted workspace, so local-custody wording applies only to self-hosted operation.

Cryptohopper's official explanation describes a SaaS platform that connects exchanges using API keys or Fast Connect and does not hold custody of user funds. Its connection guide instructs users to enable trading while disabling withdrawals. The service still handles the API connection for hosted execution; avoid calling the exchange API secret a wallet private key or asserting encryption details not stated in the current source.

Strategy design and backtesting​

Gunbot Unlimited includes built-in strategy workflows, custom JavaScript and TradingView alerts. Its historical backtesting interface can show trade markers, performance, drawdown, exposure, fees and a trade ledger. External APIs and live timing dependencies may not reproduce exactly in a historical test.

Cryptohopper provides a visual Strategy Designer, technical indicators, candlestick patterns, marketplace strategies, signals, AI strategy features and TradingView alerts. Its backtest documentation says tests display signals over approximately a month and do not account for every live constraint. It is accurate to call the product low-code, not to say it has no strategy design or testing.

Cryptohopper's current official exchange list includes Coinbase Advanced, Bitvavo, Binance, Crypto.com, KuCoin, Bybit, Binance US, Kraken, BingX, BitMart, OKX, HTX, and deprecated Bitfinex and Poloniex entries. Regional availability and supported pairs can vary.

Gunbot's local table lists 26 native venues, including Binance, Bybit, Bitget, OKX, Kraken, KuCoin, Coinbase Advanced Trade, dYdX, HyperLiquid and PancakeSwap. Spot, futures and DeFi support is exchange-specific.

Best fit​

Choose Gunbot Unlimited if you want custom JavaScript, a user-run execution environment, futures/DeFi options where supported, and a predictable $29/month offer. Choose Cryptohopper if you prefer hosted onboarding, mobile access, visual strategy design, marketplace/copy features and paper trading. In both cases, the exchange's API permissions should be limited to the minimum required and withdrawals disabled.

Verdict​

Gunbot Unlimited is the better fit for technically inclined traders who value execution control and extensibility. Cryptohopper is attractive for a managed, visual, spot-focused workflow with social and marketplace features. Neither platform guarantees profitability, and annual billing, exchange limits, API handling and test-model limitations should be disclosed before comparing total value.
