Crypto bubbles that benchmark every asset against Bitcoin

Relative returns expose market leadership

A USD bubble map can turn mostly green when Bitcoin rallies. Benchmarking each asset against BTC separates broad market direction from relative strength and shows which assets gained ground against Bitcoin.

Bubble size keeps market capitalization visible, so a tiny asset with an extreme percentage move does not visually dominate a much larger market leader.

Reading the bubbles

Green means the asset outperformed the selected benchmark over the chosen period. Red means it underperformed. Switch to USD when you want the conventional market-direction view, or reduce the universe to the top 25 when you want a cleaner large-cap rotation picture.

Calculation and data scope

Relative return is calculated by dividing the asset's growth factor by Bitcoin's growth factor and subtracting one. The map uses CoinLore's current top-100 market data and its 1-hour, 24-hour, and 7-day percentage changes. Rankings and market caps are current snapshots, not historical constituent sets.

What does vs Bitcoin performance mean?

It measures an asset's return relative to Bitcoin over the same period. An altcoin can rise in USD but still underperform Bitcoin if BTC rose faster.

How is performance versus Bitcoin calculated?

Relative performance divides the asset growth factor by Bitcoin's growth factor and subtracts one. Simple percentage-point subtraction is only an approximation.

What determines bubble size?

Bubble size is based on market capitalization using a compressed logarithmic scale so large assets remain prominent without making smaller top-100 assets unreadable.

Does BTC-relative crypto performance measure altcoin season?

No. It shows which assets are outperforming or underperforming Bitcoin over 1 hour, 24 hours, or 7 days. It does not apply an altcoin-season threshold or 90-day methodology.
